ANTI WRINKLE TREATMENTS

Anti wrinkle treatments are small facial injections, carefully administered in designated areas with a safe substance called Botulinum Toxin Type A, known as Botox.

This is personal choice. Commonly treated areas are: Forehead lines, frown lines (in between the eyebrows), crows feet lines at the side of the eyes. Many people often have botox in the forehead to elevate the brows and create a soft facial expression. 

The procedure itself is quick, approximately 30 minutes. An in depth consultation will have already been completed prior to your treatment day. 

Every day the muscles in the face are constantly used. The contractions within the muscle cause the skin to develop fine lines and wrinkles. The active ingredients injected into the muscle causes the muscle to relax allowing skin to regenerate and prevent wrinkles. 

The effects are gradual. Improvements are often noticeable within 2-3 days and by 2 weeks the full effects of the treatment are visible. I advise having a follow up appointment to establish if your desired look is achieved.

These results commonly last for up to 3 months however this can vary depending on your individual anatomy and physiology. 

Common side effects usually happen at the time of the treatment and can include temporary swelling or redness and bruising, some people also note a mild headache but these are temporary and resolve within a couple of days.

Serious and complex side effects are exceptionally rare, I always ensure you are suitably informed through your specialist consultation with myself and the independent prescriber.

They are often used as a solution to the ageing process but are also used as a preventative measure at early stages of aging to stop fine lines and wrinkles developing.
